I Believe in Work, Hard Work

Auburn students are notoriously hard workers. They balance school with club memberships, football season, intramural sports and socializing. Many of them also take on a part-time job to gain experience or a little extra cash, which adds to the constant juggling of activities. How do they do it? It’s not easy – but it does give them some extra skills that will be invaluable upon graduation. The job possibilities for those interested can seem endless. There are on-campus jobs, off-campus jobs,…See More

Auburn's Campus Bleeds Orange, Blue and Purple

Auburn students, alumni and fans, and they are not afraid to display it anywhere. This week, Auburn’s campus will be lit up by a different color, one with just as much pride but also sorrow, hope and strength behind it: purple. Purple is the color that symbolizes cancer awareness, and Auburn University students will be spreading…See More

Rivalry on the Field, Camaraderie on Campus

On Friday, November 9, one of the most unique traditions in the SEC returns to Auburn’s campus. Auburn SGA, along with other leaders on campus, will be welcoming students from the University of Georgia to the Loveliest Village on the Plains for a day of building relationships and learning about each others’ schools. This event is known as Better Relations Day, and it dates back to 1948 when the presidents of Auburn and the University of Alabama met to try and find a way to build a better…See More

Callouts at Cater - an Auburn Classic

Auburn is a school rich in tradition. It is also a campus where involvement is promoted and encouraged for students of all ages, backgrounds, and experiences. When one combines tradition with the spirit of involvement, the result is Callouts. When students try out for certain organizations on campus, instead of waiting for a list to be posted displaying who made the group, Callouts occur on the back steps of Cater Hall. The leaders of the organization “call out” the names of the new members of…See More

Auburn Study Partners Make the Grade

Adjusting to life as a college student is anything but easy, especially when it comes to doing schoolwork. It is known throughout the South that Auburn is one of the hardest universities to receive a letter grade of an “A” in class. However, free tutoring programs offered by the University, such as Study Partners, help make…See More

A student’s first year at Auburn University is a once in a lifetime experience. It shapes his or her Auburn career – friends are made, organizations are joined and traditions are learned. Though most of these things are figured out by the student, it is the guidance from the First Year Experience office that leads students to become a true member of the Auburn Family.

The First Year Experience office is located in 189 Foy Hall. The staff and students who work in the office coordinate…

Aubie: The Story Behind the Stripes

Posted on September 16, 2013 at 11:00am 0 Comments

There are 13 colleges in the nation that claim a tiger as their mascot. It’s safe to say that none of them hold a candle to the one and only Aubie, Auburn’s favorite tiger and beloved mascot. Women love him, children adore him, and men want to be him – it’s as simple as that. No matter how your time at Auburn is spent or what your experience is on the Plains, it is a fact that you will remember Aubie as more than just a mascot – he is a huge part of the Auburn…
