On October 16 at 6 p.m., Auburn University’s chapter of International Justice Mission hosted a waffle eating competition to raise awareness and money for the human rights issue of human trafficking. The event took place at the Red Barn on Auburn’s campus and featured waffles from Waffle House on Glenn Avenue and coffee from Wake Up Coffee Company.

In 2008, Dr. Kevin Walsh and the Greater Alabama Council of the Boy Scouts of America established a Youth Leadership Development Program in Alabama. The purpose of the YLDP is to provide a leadership program for deserving high school junior and seniors enrolled in one of the 70 partner schools in the Alabama. High school principals and counselors recommend students to participate in the program based on character and leadership potential.
