Auburn University’s Committee of 19, College of Agriculture and Art Department have joined forces to take a stand in the war on hunger by sponsoring the 2012 Empty Bowls Banquet. The event is set for Tuesday, Oct. 16, at 7 p.m. The event will be held at The Alabama Farmers Pavilion at Ag Heritage Park, located at 620-A S. Donahue Drive.

If you were asked, ”where does your food come from?” what would you say? Many simply think, “the grocery store,” but don’t think much past that. From 4 students in a classroom, to hundreds of individuals from around the globe, people are stepping up to tell the world why they care. The Why Care Campaign was started at Auburn earlier this year to raise awareness of world hunger and, as the name implies, the campaign that asks people the question “why do you care about hunger?”
