The meaning of sisterhood is no foreign concept to Kappa Delta Sorority. The KD chapters of Auburn University and Furman University are coming together to help two sisters in a time of need.
Olivia Cain of Auburn and Perrin Thompson of Furman have both recently been diagnosed with cancer. These two young women are both experiencing an unexpected curve as they have had to leave their friends and college experiences behind to face uncertain times.

The sophomore communication disorders major, Rebecca Hart is Auburn. Hart is Miss Auburn University 2010, a member of SGA (Student Government Association), and a War Eagle Parent Couselor. She grew up in Alabama and claims she bleeds orange and blue.

Kristen Hines is a local Auburn singer/songwriter from Marietta, Ga. She has gained a local following by playing at coffee shops and churches in the area. Hines is currently working on a series of EPs called,

Erin Hutchins graduated from Auburn University last spring with bachelor’s degrees in political science and English. Even though she had many options after graduation, she chose to stay and attend Auburn’s public administration graduate program.
“I truly believe that Auburn is a family,” says Hutchins.

It all began with a chance meeting for Tom Simpson and Marsha Greene at Auburn. They first met through mutual friends while still enrolled in school. The Auburn Wesley Foundation has brought students together in more than just a spiritual way. As a little girl growing up in Oneonta, Ala. Faith Palmer dreamed of becoming a cheerleader at Auburn University. Although most childhood dreams come to fade, Palmer’s stayed fast.

For David Rachel, being a part of Auburn is just as much about the traditions and atmosphere as it is about forming friendships. Twenty-one year old Rachel Wilson is a junior at Auburn University. And as she said, “I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.”
Born and raised in Marietta, GA, a suburb outside of Atlanta, Wilson grew up in a supportive and loving family. Her brother, Brad Wilson, is an Auburn alum, and that is what initially made her consider the university.
