Daniel Edelman, who built the largest public relations firm in the world, died on January 16, 2013 of heart failure at the University of Chicago Medical Center. He was 92.

Gabrielle Hoyt from Auburn University is one of two recipients of the 2012 Daniel J. Edelman/Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) Award.
Based on a nationwide competition, Hoyt demonstrated strong public relations skills in her submissions, recommendations and writing samples and exhibited leadership and dedication with the Auburn PRSSA chapter. PRSSA is the Public Relations Student Society of America.
