A Knowles Family Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving, to many people, it is the official kick-off of the holiday season. Families get together and celebrate every year with turkey, potatoes, green beans and of course cranberry sauce. Every Thanksgiving in my house, our family, including the dogs, spends quality time together with love, and a lot of laughter.

There are a few essential Thanksgiving dishes that are present at every Knowles family Thanksgiving, first of all, sweet potato…

Do You Have What It Takes to be an AU MBA Candidate?

It took a lot to get into the program. Brandon Crain spent many hours studying in the library for the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT). Once he had taken the test, there was the long wait for his scores to come in. Auburn requires a high score to be accepted into the Master of Business Administration (MBA) program.

Crain was successful and is now a current graduate student pursuing a MBA with a concentration in finance. He graduated from…

The Evolution of Auburn Building Science

Brian Knowles graduated from Auburn in 1984 and majored in building science. This was over 25 years ago, and back then, students were not learning the same technological skills that modern day building science students are learning.

“It’s truly amazing how much the industry has changed in 25 years,” said Knowles.

Throughout history and up until the last 25 to 30 years, all design drawings and renderings were done by hand by master builders,…

Callaghan’s family moved to Auburn when he was in 9th grade. They moved because of his dad’s job. He is a sales director for a company that sells car wheels and the company opened a plant in the area.

Opportunities with International Business

McCallum was lucky…

Auburn Grad Finds Success in Tough Times

In this economy it can be tough, sometimes impossible, to find a great job right out of college. The value of a bachelor’s degree is slowly decreasing because so many graduates are staying in school to get a master’s degree because they cannot find a job after graduating. But for one lucky and deserving graduate, this was not the case.

John Griffin of Homewood, Ala. graduated from Auburn University in December 2010 and began working for…

Nursing Student Goes the Extra Mile

Emily Savage is a senior at Auburn University studying nursing. Auburn’s nursing program is known to be grueling. Getting into the school takes a high GPA and a good interview. Long nights of studying and eight hour days spent doing clinical work at the hospital does not leave much time for extra commitments, but Savage has found a way to give back to the community while still maintaining good grades and managing her time well. One day per week she goes to a local family’s home and takes…
