The Overall Company in Opelika celebrates its first birthday in style — by expanding to Auburn University’s campus.
Opening last August, The Overall Company became a student favorite with their Overall Pops popsicles. Students may now pick up these homemade, all-natural pops from the company's new on-campus food cart.
That’s not the only perk though.
Students may also enjoy these pops by paying with their Tiger Cards now that The Overall Company has teamed up with Tiger Dining.
“We’re beyond thrilled to have our cart on Auburn’s campus,” says Ali Maloney, co-owner and the woman behind the artisan pops. “We’re going to be switching up the flavors of the pops sold on campus, while keeping the obvious favorites there too.”
These best-sellers include: Hazelnut, Cookies ‘n Cream, Salted Caramel and Strawberry Balsamic just to name a few.
“It’s a tie,” says Joshua Lewis, Overall Pops employee, when he was asked which pop he could not live without.
Lewis finally settled on two of the best-selling pops at The Overall Company — Cookies ‘n Cream and Strawberry Balsamic.
Overall Pops is located next to the Student Center and Tiger Transit hub, a busy spot for students looking to grab something refreshing in between classes. The pop stand is open from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
“For football season, we’re open on game day with a special pop flavor for Auburn football fans,” says Maloney.
The pop is called the “ORANGE & BLUEberry Creamsicle,” and it is made with real oranges and blueberries in the middle.
While the pop stand is starting up on campus, another idea is already brewing at The Overall Company.
"We bought a vintage ice cream truck," says Jay Pritchard, co-owner of The Overall Company. Pritchard and the other owners plan to turn it into a "food truck" serving The Overall Company's artisan espresso, pour-over coffee and pops.
“We’re hoping to have the truck up and running on campus within the next few months,” says Pritchard.
