Allen & McCullough Nationally Recognized for Diversity Excellence

Dr. Brenda Allen (photo right), Extension Specialist for the Alabama Cooperative Extension System and Assistant Professor of Forestry & Wildlife Sciences, and Ms. Brittany McCullough (photo left), Diversity Analyst in the Office of Diversity & Multicultural Affairs, have been recognized by Minority Access, Inc. as 2012 National Role Models for their efforts in advancing the recruitment, retention and enhancement of underrepresented students at Auburn University. Additionally, Auburn University will be cited as an Exemplary University Committed to Diversity for Year 2012.

Ms. McCullough is responsible for developing and maintaining systems to measure, track, and report on diversity initiatives in the Office of Diversity and Multicultural Affairs. In particular, she designs and implements instruments and collects various types of data that are used for continuous assessment and evaluation of diversity initiatives. Her efforts play a critical role in obtaining external funding for diversity programs.

Dr. Allen is a dedicated and committed champion and mentor for underrepresented minorities at Auburn University. She has been instrumental in encouraging and maintaining Auburn University’s active involvement in the Minorities in Agriculture, Natural Resources and Related Sciences (MANRRS) national organization. Due to her steadfastness and active involvement of our students under her leadership, Auburn University was a university sponsor of the 2011 MANRRS National Convention in Atlanta, GA.

Dr. Allen, Ms. McCullough and Auburn University will be officially recognized on September 29, 2012 at the 13th National Role Models Conference in Orlando, FL.
