Amy Stevens: Domestic Obsessions

The Department of Art in the College of Liberal Arts at Auburn University is pleased to announce Domestic Obsessions, an exhibition by Amy Stevens. The show opens in Biggin Gallery on Monday, January 13, and runs through February 21. The artist will present a lecture on her work on January 13 at 5 p.m. in Biggin 005, with a public reception to follow from 6 – 7 p.m. All events are free and open to the public, and Biggin Gallery is wheelchair accessible.
Amy Stevens is a photographer and installation artist who has participated in solo and group exhibitions in major US cities, as well as Canada, Ireland, China, and Lithuania.
Her work has been shown at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Delaware Art Museum, Jen Bekman Gallery (NYC), and the ShiJiaZhuang Art Museum (China), and is included in the permanent collections of the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston, the Cleveland Art Museum, and the Beaverbrook Art Gallery in New Brunswick, Canada. She has had her work published in Real Simple, Russian Esquire, Venus Zine, and French publications étapes and Muze.
Stevens is also a member of a two-person international curatorial team that produced exhibitions in Philadelphia and Dublin in 2013, and is currently working on a travelling show of Irish and American artists for 2014/2015. She earned an MFA in Photography from Tyler School of Art, Temple University in Philadelphia, and a BFA in Photography/ Studio Art from Arizona State University. She currently resides in Berks County, Pennsylvania.
