Advance ticket sales for AU Singers Fall Concert began this week. There will be three performances put on by the Singers, one on Saturday, Dec. 1, at 2:30 p.m. and two on Sunday, Dec. 2, at 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. All three concerts will be held in the Telfair Peet Theatre.
The 36 vocalists, 12 instrumentalists and Director Dr. Dale Farmer have been working hard to assemble the Fall Show. The group has prepared a variety of music including some Christmas tunes, Jersey Boys Medley, “Raise Your Voice” from the new musical Sister Act, and a few classic rock hits.
The audience has a lot to look forward to according to the President of AU Singers Allison Dexter. “We have a lot of new members in the group this year, and with them comes new talent! We have a great repertoire of musical selections this semester that will be fun and engaging for all ages.”
The Fall Show is a good opportunity for students to take a break from studying exams and to see colleagues show off their talents. “The show is also very family friendly and a good way to get in the Christmas spirit! There will be songs from a variety of time periods and genres. There will be something for everyone,” Dexter said.
Tickets to the show are $10 for adults and $5 for children and students with valid student ID for each concert. Advance tickets can be purchased at the Music Department office, 101 Goodwin Hall, from 7:45 a.m. until11:45 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. until 4:45 p.m. each day: cash or check only.
The AU Singers would love to see a great turn out for their show. “There is nothing the AU Singers love more than sharing music with others. Our fall show is a fun experience that will be enjoyable for all!” Dexter said.
