If you are an avid follower of alternative rock bands, prepare to freak out. The Auburn University Program Council has announced its lineup for the 2014 Auburn Airwaves concert. The featured bands include The Avett Brothers, B.o.B. and The Neighbourhood.
Good news for students, the concert is free to all AU students that have an active ignited card. Even if you are not a student, tickets are still available for purchase for $30, which will go on sale March 3. The first 1000 people through the doors will receive a wristband for floor access. In past years, the UPC’s Auburn Airwaves concerts have featured huge musical acts to students such as Train, NEEDTOBREATHE, The GooGoo Dolls, Akon and many other artists. UPC’s event committee works hard to get big acts to Auburn so that students can enjoy a free concert on their campus.
Hannah Parker, Auburn student and dedicated Avett Brothers follower, will be one of the many people waiting in line for a floor access wristband.
“The Avett Brothers are my favorite band and to have them come to Auburn is super exciting for me,” Parker claimed, “I’ve seen them twice and their show is absolutely incredible.”
The concert will be held at Auburn Arena on Thursday April 24, 2014. The doors open at 5:30 pm and the show will begin at 6:15 pm. Students can reserve their tickets now by going to UPC's website and clicking on “Events and Tickets.” There is also a link on their website for non-student tickets to purchase. Once students reserve their tickets, they must bring their ignited card to be swiped at the door.
