It may only be October, but the holiday season will be in full swing in no time. The Auburn University Collegiate Cattlemen and Cattlewomen are offering an opportunity to get a head start on your holiday shopping by submitting an order to their annual Holiday Sausage Gift Box Sale.
The fundraiser is organized by the club annually in order to raise funds for members to attend events and trade shows that can enhance their education and professional networks within the meat science industry. The funds from this year's sales will go to support the CCM/CCW's trip to the National Cattlemen's Beef Association's convention in Nashville, Tenn. in February.
The boxes come with sausage in a variety of flavors, which includes original, jalapeño & cheese and garlic pepper. Each box will also contain a 1-pound cut of mild cheddar cheese. There are also options to purchase individual packs of sausage in each flavor or customize a box to your preferred tastes.
The sausage is prepared and packaged at Auburn University's Lambert-Powell Meats Laboratory. All orders must be placed by Nov. 1, 2013 either online or by mail. The boxes may be picked up the first week of December at the meats laboratory. All questions or those interested in shipping options, please contact Staci Degeer at SLD0023@auburn.edu or Katie Keck at KTK0003@auburn.edu.
