Editor's Note: Meet two Auburn alumni who are on a path to marriage. It all started at Auburn, so why don't we help them make their big leap! High atop a cliff on Lake Guntersville, Carter Astin (AU Industrial Engineering '13) asked the biggest question of his life to Holly Johnson (AU Elementary Education '13). Read on to find out how it turned out ... and how you can help.
It all began in the student section of Jordan-Hare Stadium at the Auburn football game versus Florida-Atlantic on September 24, 2011. This Auburn pair met for the first time at their favorite place on earth during the greatest time of year despite them growing up just a few miles away from each other.
Soon after they became a wonderful Auburn couple and have been inseparable since. They both graduated from Auburn in May of 2013.
They have been together for over two years now, and on May 25, 2014, they climbed to the top of Goat Island on Lake Guntersville for what was believed to be a quick leap off into the lake.
However there was a bigger plan behind the climb and turned into what is now known to friends and family as "The Double Plunge."
The couple will be getting married in March of 2015 and is hoping to win an extravagant honeymoon through the engagement video competition held by Diamonds Direct in Birmingham.
