Audrey Hepburn once said, "The beauty of a woman is not in a facial mole, but true beauty in a Woman is reflected in her soul. It is the caring that she lovingly gives, the passion that she knows."
For more than ten years, young men and women of Auburn Universities Modeling Board have been strutting their stuff both on and off the runway.
Contrary to many beliefs, members of AUMB encompass more than just a pretty face and desirable headshots. Members possess a distinguished combination of personality, a confident walk and style, and an obvious passion for modeling.
Caroline Schrader, a senior majoring in Communication has been a member of AUMB for 2 years and currently holds the executive position of Assistant Fashion Show Coordinator.
“My job is to assist the Fashion Show Coordinator in planning all of the events, and making sure everything runs as smoothly as possible, including fittings, clothing, and venues for each fashion show,” explains Schrader.
As of this year, AUMB took initiative and decided to give back to Auburn’s community and campus by establishing a philanthropy benefiting breast cancer awareness.
“We decided that having breast cancer awareness as our philanthropy would not only benefit survivors and victims, but also be rewarding to us as an organization, so that we may have the chance to give back to a well-deserving cause,” says Schrader.
This past Fall, Auburn University Modeling Board organized an innovative and unique fashion show called “Couture for the Cure” which was held at the Opelika Event Center. This entertaining fashion runway featured a breast cancer survivor guest model, and benefited the East Alabama Medical Center. Entirely 100 percent of all proceeds were donated to the breast cancer center, and having locals get on the breast cancer bandwagon was sure a success.
“I love Auburn University Modeling because of events like these. To be able to combine fashion and credibility within the community for a good cause makes you feel like all your effort was appreciated,” says Schrader.
Being a part of Auburn Universities Modeling Board allows students to pursue their passion for fashion, as well as creating lifelong memories and friendships.
“I have become great friends with a large, diverse group of people who have so many distinct qualities to bring to the table. I have learned so much about modeling over the past few years, and thoroughly enjoying expanding our passions into a greater cause,” Schrader admits.

“Can’t find a better way to get involved on Auburn’s Campus,” says Schrader. “Good cause, good fashion, good people.”
