Delta Sigma Pi is a wonderful student run organization right here on Auburn’s campus for any student that is majoring in business! It is an organization that offers many benefits whether it is connecting with other students studying business, getting to know the faculty within the business school or learning about different jobs and internship opportunities around the country.

Demi Burton, the president of Delta Sigma Pi, has been a member since her freshman year. She originally heard about Delta Sigma Pi through an email sent out to all of the business 1010 classes and thought this would be a great way to get plugged into the College of Business. Burton jumped into this organization eager to learn more about the business profession and even looked at this opportunity as a way to get involved on campus.

Burton did not want to be just another member of this organization. She wanted to take lead and hold different officer positions. Sophomore year, Burton took her first leadership position within Delta Sigma Pi and became the senior vice president. Her junior year she was chancellor and now she is in the top position as president of Delta Sigma Pi.

“My favorite experience so far was attending the LEAD conference in Jacksonville, Fla. The professional connections you make and the relationships you form with your brothers are invaluable. This conference offered numerous growth forums and tips for setting your professional career in motion,” said Burton.

If you are looking for ways to make connections and find out about jobs and internships, then Delta Sigma Pi is an organization to think about joining. “The experiences I have had and the connections I have made have helped me tremendously in the internship and job process,” Burton said. “We announce any internship opportunities or job openings in our weekly meetings,” Burton said.

Delta Sigma Pi meetings are held every Monday night at 6 p.m. and typically last an hour. The attire is business casual. The topics of the meetings range from planning philanthropy events and socials to discussing various professional strategies.

Burton certainly has made the most out of her time in Delta Sigma Pi by getting involved right when she became a member. “The prominent benefits of being a member of Delta Sigma Pi has been the leadership experiences and opportunities that I have been blessed enough to have, the great friendships I have made and the many professional connections I have made,” Burton concluded.
