Hunter recently entered Roxy’s “Let the Sea Set You Free” contest for a chance to be the next Roxy girl and is currently in the first round of competition.

The contest is a series of challenges that take place over the next few weeks and three winners will be announced June 19.

All contestants are competing for the chance to represent the company and be the face and voice of Roxy. The

winners will have the opportunity to get a full Roxy wardrobe, $5,000 and a trip to Biarritz, France to watch a

pro-surfing competition.

“There is also another surprise trip that no one knows about and a chance to meet the Roxy pro-athletes,” said Hunter. “It’s such an exciting opportunity.”

Hunter first heard about the contest through the Roxy Style Squad, a group of shoppers between the ages of 13 and 23. Roxy often seeks out their opinions on new products.

“I heard about the contest through surf shops I buy from and I thought it sounded like so much fun,” said Tatum.

The first round of the contest is from April 27-May 8 and is completed by voting for your favorite submission online.

“The first round is crucial because it is about showing your creativity and proving you can network,” said Hunter. 'I had to post several pictures and write a 150 word statement about why I am a Roxy girl."

Hunter has posted links to her voting profile on her social media accounts and needs everyone to post a status or share her links.Hunter said there is another girl from her hometown competing and really wants the support of Auburn to keep her in the competition.

“If either of us got to go it would be great, but it would mean the world to me if I knew I had the support of everyone at Auburn to help me win,” said Hunter.

Finalists are chosen May 17 and will move on to the next round which will include some surprise challenges.

“This is a worldwide competition and I see people entering from Japan, Australia and Spain,” said Hunter. “If I can get enough people here to spread the word and start voting I know I can stay in the competition.”
