Morgan Jackson is a junior at Auburn University majoring in English. Jackson is hoping to one-day work as a sports analyst and broadcaster for ESPN. She is also the daughter of the1985 Heisman trophy winner, Vincent “BO” Jackson.

Bo Jackson will be honored this Saturday, April 14 at Auburn University’s spring A-Day game in the form of the unveiling one of three statues that commemorates his accomplishments at Auburn. The two remaining statues will honor Auburn’s first Heisman Trophy winner, Pat Sullivan, and its most recent Heisman Trophy winner, Cam Newton. The three statues were unveiled during a ceremony at 10 a.m., immediately before the A-Day game.

“The statue isn’t just remembering his athletic abilities, but also what he’s done for Auburn, the University of Alabama and the state of Alabama as a whole,” Morgan said.

Morgan is referring to Bo’s organizations, the Give Me A Chance Foundation and Bo Bikes Bama.

The purpose of the Give Me A Chance Foundation is to inspire disadvantaged youth to become involved in sports by providing an opportunity to train at an elite level while emphasizing a strong commitment to education.
On Tuesday, April 24th - Saturday, April 28th, 2012, sports legend Bo Jackson will bike 300 miles through the tornado ravaged communities of Alabama.
Bo is riding his bike to raise $1 million for the Governor's Emergency Relief Fund, which was established to help Alabamians with unmet recovery needs that unfolded in the wake of the deadly tornado outbreak across the state in April 2011.

In attendance at the statue unveiling with Morgan and Bo will be wife and mother Linda Jackson.
“It’s an honor because my father has worked so hard for his entire life,” Morgan said. “I believe he truly deserves it.”

To Morgan, the statue does not only honor Bo’s athletic achievements.
“I don’t see my dad as ‘Bo Jackson. I see him as ‘dad,’” Morgan said. “To me, this statue is for him being the greatest father he could be.”
