Nominations are now open for the 2014 and 2015 Auburn Alumni Association awards. I hope you will take the time to nominate a deserving alumni or friend of Auburn University for one these prestigious awards. The deadline for completed packets is Friday, May 30, 2014.
- 2014 Undergraduate Teaching Excellence Awards (three recipients) - given to teachers who are exceptional in their quality of teaching, knowledge of subject, interest in students and availability to them, impact on the nominator's personal educational experience, and influence within Auburn University. Teachers are nominated by students, alumni, and colleagues. Includes a $1,000 honorarium. - 2014 Minority Achievement Award (one recipient) - honors an individual of any race or ethnic background whose efforts have attracted minority students to AU and/or whose efforts have contributed to the success, retention and graduation rates of minority students at AU and honors an individual who has contributed to improved race relations and fostered a sense of community within the university. Includes a $1,000 honorarium. Nomination requires a nomination form and a letter from the dean and/or department head detailing the nominee’s efforts to enhance minority relations on campus. http://aualum.org/awards/index.php/minority-achievement
- 2015 Young Alumni Achievement Award (one recipient) – alumni under the age of 40 (at the time of the nomination) who have made significant contributions in their professional lives and/or their respective communities. - 2015 Lifetime Achievement Awards (four recipients) - recognizes recipients for outstanding achievements in their professional lives, personal integrity and stature, and service to the university.
