Sisters that eat together, stick together. Among cooking dinner together, sisters, Jordan and Caroline Stephens make time for each other within their busy schedules.

Among many activities, the laid-back pair enjoys frequenting restaurants, studying, attending church and driving home to Huntsville together.

“Last semester, we even had a class together, book club. It was great to have a familiar face in the class,” says Caroline.

This sister duo defines their relationship as different from other siblings because they make an effort and are intentional about spending time together. Whereas some siblings go to dinner because they feel as if they have too, the Stephens sisters want to see one another and catch up.

Jordan, a senior studying political science, has made her mark on Auburn University’s campus. In her time at Auburn, Jordan has acquired a list of on-campus involvement including: student recruiter, Tiger Tuesdays participant, SGA’s Big Event, high school leadership counselor, a member of Kappa Delta sorority and a member of judicial.

Her littler sister, Caroline is a freshman at Auburn, double majoring in political science and psychology. As a Kappa Delta sister, high school leadership counselor and Tiger Tuesday participant, Caroline is on her way to becoming just as involved as Jordan.

Jordan hopes Caroline continues to pursue on-campus involvement. “You learn a lot and being involved gives you opportunities to show your personality. But it can also broaden your horizons and allows you to meet new people,” states Jordan.

Although the Stephens sisters are involved in many of the same organizations and major, they do not compete in grades or number of leadership positions in organizations.

“Jordan and I received the same score on the ACT. Our youngest sister, Harper, 16, is out to beat me on the ACT, not Jordan. There’s more competition with Harper,” says Caroline.

Jordan explains that Caroline and Harper compete more since they are only two years apart.

Even with a busy life, Jordan notes the importance of managing her time. “If I prioritize time with my friends, I should do the same with Caroline because I want to invest in her,” states Jordan.

With Jordan graduating in May and going to law school, Caroline understands the short time she has with Jordan at Auburn. Caroline attributes her easy transition to college to Jordan. Caroline says, “Having Jordan here was like having a little piece of home.”

The tightly knit sisters have a tremendous amount of respect for each other and their accomplishments.
