“We are working on raising awareness in the community, seeking people to join us in raising funds to support this effort or to be a foster caregiver,” Rebecca Cozart, Vice President of The Macon County Humane Society, said.
The event is $5 and you must be at least 18 years to attend. Tickets can be purchased at the door or through email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Ticket price includes food from Corner Grill and Uncle Maddio's Pizza, a variety of live music and a raffle ticket.
Among the local artists who will be performing are Jessie Wright and Kevin Shands, Graham Harper, Joey Young and Shane "Jabber Jaw" Harrell and Katie Martin.
Raffle tickets will enter participants in a chance to win an assortment of prizes, including an iPAD.
There will also be animals available for adoption at the event. “We will have a few animals with us, as well as a computer with photos of other animals that are available,” Cozart said. “There will be adoption and foster applications on site, if you are interested you will be able to fill one out. You can check out all the animals at www.maconcountyhumanesociety.org.”
"The Macon County Humane Society envisions a community for animals where they are no longer homeless but sheltered, where animals are no longer starving but fed and well cared for, where no animal will ever be a victim of intentional abuse and where unintentional neglect is resolved through education.”
