The Auburn Alumni Association not only serves the past
graduates of the university, but also the current and upcoming graduates.
Their Web site offers information about the Office of Alumni Affairs, the Auburn Magazine, clubs, groups, career services, scholarships, awards, students and travel information. You can also shop, see a calendar of events or click the link to “stay connected” with the university.
Membership Coordinator from the Auburn Alumni Association, Danielle Fields, has great advice for upcoming Auburn graduates. Fields is helpful in reminding the upcoming graduates about photo opportunities, tips for graduation day and a reminder to stay in touch with the Auburn Alumni Association in order to receive membership materials.
Fields reminds graduates to take their photo in front of the famous Samford Lawn. She said, “We work exclusively with Flip Flop Foto. You can go and have candid’s made or you schedule an appointment and actually have a session with Flip Flop Foto.”
The Auburn Alumni Association will also be around to help upcoming graduates on their actual graduation day. Fields said, “On graduation day we have a ‘get it together’ area. At this area we will help you get your hat on straight, we have mirrors to check yourselves out, make sure your regalia is on properly and answer any of those last minute questions that you may have.”
If you are a soon to be graduate or the family member or friend of a graduate, you can visit
http://www.aualum.org/shop/gradgifts.html to find the perfect gift. Fields said, “We have everything from t-shirts, to business cardholders and the ever-important Auburn portfolios to take on those job interviews. “
According to aualum.org, “ the mission of the Auburn Alumni Association is to foster and strengthen the relationship between Auburn University and its alumni and friends; to preserve and promote the university’s traditions, purposes, growth and alumni; and to keep alive the spirit of affection and reverence for our alma mater.”
Upcoming graduates need to be sure to fill out a keep in touch form from the Auburn Alumni Center in order to assure you that as a new member you will receive all your membership materials and support from the Auburn Alumni Association. Remember, Auburn graduates receive a one-year membership free from the Auburn Alumni Association.
Fields said she encourages upcoming graduates with questions or concerns about graduation or about their membership to call the Auburn Alumni Association at (334) 844- 2960 or visit their Web site at aualum.org.
