This Wednesday, November 11, the Phi Theta chapter of Tri Delta will host one of its many fundraising events, Delta House of Pancakes also called DHOP. Every year Tri Delta holds DHOP to benefit their national philanthropy, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
The event is an all-you-can-eat pancake dinner and will take place at the Theta Chi house from 8 p.m. til midnight. Tickets are $5 for a regular ticket or, newly added this year, $8 for a fast pass ticket, which allows you to skip the line. Bacon and juice are included in the ticket price as well. Caroline Jackson and The Flint Brothers will be playing on the stage out back all night long. Each year Aubie makes an appearance also!
Tri Delta and St. Jude created a philanthropic partnership in 1999. Nationally, Tri Delta has raised more than $30 million dollars to date. Since then, Tri Delta has raised money to endow a Teen Room, name a Patient Care Floor, and to name the Specialty C-Clinic.
In 2014, Tri Delta committed to raising $60 million in 10 years to name the short-term housing facility located on-campus the Tri Delta Place. This is the largest single commitment by any St. Jude partner to date.
The Phi Theta chapter of Tri Delta holds two large fundraisers annually for St. Jude, DHOP and Sincerely Yours, a letter writing campaign. The sorority raised more than $14,000.00 at last year’s DHOP event and $72,477.00 through the Sincerely Yours campaign.
In addition, every fall Auburn’s Tri Delta chapter has a fundraising event on the concourse to help raise money for Alex’s Lemonade Stand, one of the chapter’s local philanthropies. Since 2005, the chapter has raised more than $100 million for Alex’s Lemonade Stand.
The chapter also hosts a fundraising event each year for Camp Smile-A-Mile, another one of Tri Delta’s local
philanthropic partners. This past year the chapter held “Sundaes for SAM” and raised $4,827.00.
“We are incredibly proud to support these local children’s cancer charities, along with our national philanthropic partner, St. Jude,” Carly Stagg, local philanthropy chair, said.
