Last Comic Standing is an event where Auburn students can display their comedic talents in front of their peers by performing stand-up comedy or a comedy skit. The participants compete for laughs to be known for this year’s “last comic standing”.
Applications to participate can be picked up in the Auburn University Student Center (AUSC) Suite 3130 and are due Oct. 7 and you must be a student to participate.
There will be a preliminary round where comedians will perform their acts for the committee to ensure that the material isn’t offensive. The acts may not include any material which is potentially offensive to students, faculty, administration, and staff of Auburn University.
Participants that are unsure of whether or not their material may be offensive are asked to consult committee members for this event.
The event will be judged and audience members will have a chance to select their fan favorite. Cash prizes will be given to the winners.
The event is sponsored by UPC and planned by the Speakers and Comedians Committee. This committee plans events such as comedians, distinguished lecturers and educational programs for the students of Auburn University.
Last Comic Standing has been a very successful event in the past and it is hoped that it will produce the same outcome this year.
If you haven’t had the privilege to attend this event during the past years, check out UPC’s Last Comic Standing Tuesday night, Oct. 18. Or if you think you would like to participate then turn in your application by this Friday. Enjoy a night of laughter and a wide variety of comedic styles performed by our very own Auburn students.
