Graphic Design Students Create Their Own Futures

If you ever drive through campus late at night or in the earliest hours of the morning, you may notice the lights are still on in Wallace Hall. That’s where the graphic design students of Auburn University spend their days learning and their nights designing. They are arguably some of the hardest working students on Auburn’s campus.  The profession of graphic design revolves around visual communication using symbols, typography, images and words. To master the discipline, students engage in a…See More

Toomer’s Corner Still Unites Auburn Family Despite Damages

Auburn University supporters have another reason to gather around the 130-year-old oak tress at Toomer’s Corner. Unfortunately, this occasion is no victory celebration. On Feb. 16, the university confirmed that the two trees were poisoned with the herbicide known as Spike 80DF.The announcement came after a caller bragged on The Paul Finebaum Show, a radio show based in Birmingham, that he had poisoned the trees. As a precaution, soil samples were sent to a lab at Mississippi State University…See More

Campaigns on the Plains

It’s an unsung Auburn University tradition. Like the fight song playing from Samford Hall at noon, so is the certainty of being bombarded on the concourse the week before spring elections. They swarm the campus in matching t-shirts, greeting innocent passersby with smiles, promises and coupons, if you’re lucky. Auburn Tigers BCS Championship Celebration

Aside from the lack of an opponent and hundreds of students roaming around Pat Dye Field, an onlooker might have thought it was a game day at Jordan-Hare Stadium. Though no football was played, the Auburn Family cheered and chanted for the victorious team with the same enthusiasm. Auburn University recognized the BCS National Championship team Saturday afternoon with a celebration open to the public. Fans received complementary National Championship posters as they entered the gates. Attendance…See More
