Home is where the Turkey is...

Fall is here and with it brings scarves, fallen leaves and the smell ofa turkeys roasting in ovens. Thanksgiving is a holiday meant to be spentat home with family, reminiscing about old times and reminding eachother of how happy you are to be with one another. But what if your homewas 918 miles away? This is the case for many of Auburn’s out-of-statestudents, but junior exercise science major Cyndi Hinchman is determinedto have a wonderful Thanksgiving right here on the plains.Hinchman was born…See More

The Era of Part Time Jobs

The cost for one year of schooling at Auburn University is $6,420 for in-state and $18,720 for out of state. Even though a good education is priceless, in today’s economy that number is a little scary. Due to this, college students are working at part time jobs more than ever. Some are working to help their parents with the financial load of college, and others to have extra spending money. Wes Sinor and Ragan Helms, both senior public relations majors, have jobs for these reasons.Sinor has…See More

College Credits for Fun

Tis the season for ghosts, pumpkins and spring registration; and while most hours will be filled with core classes why not take a credit and do something fun with it: go bowling. Auburn University offers bowling as a physical education class that is worth two elective credit hours. This is the first semester that Auburn has employed a contracted instructor, Andy DeLaney, and a coach co-instructor, Barbara Holler.Under the instruction of DeLaney and Holler, bowling classes have gone from three a…See More

A Look into the Life of David Sutton

Questions that are commonly heard in a college course include: “What is the derivative of this problem?”, “What does Socrates mean by this?” and “In what year was the Russian Revolution?” However, if you find yourself in Professor David Sutton’s class, you will be answering questions like: “What is your favorite food?” and “What is your favorite color?” Sutton is not your ordinary college professor, and once you take one of his classes, you will never forget him. So what is behind the man with…See More

The Battle to Design - Katie Ginn describes her experience getting into the Auburn University School of Architecture

In order to be a full time student at Auburn University you have to take at least 12 hours worth of classes. That is roughly about five classes, give or take, depending on electives and labs. That is enough to keep even the most dedicated student busy, and most scholars do not just take the minimum required each semester. What if, instead of just sitting in the library fighting AU Access to schedule your classes, you had to compete against anywhere from 50 to 100 students just to have the…See More
